Despite the cold wind and treacherous potholes, a good turnout of hardy riders, not afraid of a challenge, signed on to get the Club's 2011 TT season off to a flying start...
Beds Road Cycling Club held their first Time Trial event of the season on Sunday 6 March.
The event was held over a 10 mile course, from Cardington to Old Warden and back, via a route passing by Ireland.
For the first event of the year, held on a cold, breezy morning, and with road conditions described generously as 'poor' a good turnout of 21 riders signed on.
Of particular note was David Robinson of CC Ashwell, who was riding his first time trial, on a new bike, and who finished 3rd.
First overall was Beds Road Captain Mark Cook.
First in the handicap event was Jaouade Izzo of Beds Road CC.
The next event in this series is on 13 March, over an 11.3 mile course from Cardington, to Old Warden, to Ickwell, to Northill, to Cople and back to Cardington.
Bookings to enter this and other time trial events can be made online at the bookings page.
