Hope you're all enjoying the summer, here's some news on the cycle club
which will resume at Robert Bloomfield MS, Shefford in September
Club identity (Competition time) - We would like to develop the club and
feel it should have it's own identity, for example other clubs include the
Welwyn Wheelers, Hillingdon Slipstreamers and Team Keynes. If anyone has a
good name for the club please let us know by email before August 28th – a
small prize will be given for the what we think are the 3 best ideas.
New Bikes:- The Schools Sports Partnership have very generously funded 6
new Moda race bikes for the club (www.eurobike.uk.com) . They will be
available to use on Saturdays and to loan for anyone who intends racing on
circuits such as MK Bowl, Hillingdon or Hogs Hill.
Age and numbers:- So we can deliver effective coaching we have decided to
restrict numbers to 50 and the minimum age to school year 3. Preference
will be given to children that attended during the summer, an exception
will also be made for younger children that attended during the summer.
Cost:- The sessions will cost £10 for the series. The only additional cost
at the moment is the £2 entry fee for the Go-Ride race (we pay registration
to British Cycling). All money is used to fund club activities.
Cycle club membership, whilst we encourage the children and their grown ups
to join a local cycling club such as Beds Road CC (www.bedsroad.org) we
leave the choice to you (no discount on Go Ride sessions this time).
