On Saturday 7th June Beds Road's men competed in the Spirit Racing at Cranfield. This was a road race involving 5 laps of the Astwood 10mile tt course.
Gladly James Stewart & John Peters managed to stay out of trouble and finish strong in the top 20. However on the third lap a rider came down in the bunch at over 30mph, bringing down fifteen other riders around him. Leo was hit from behind and his frame snapped, while Stefan was "taken down lightly". Both Leo and Stefan managed to race the next day in the Banbury Star.
Sadly it was not so lucky for Ed Watkiss and Andy Paisley, both of whom needed first aid and were hospitalised for a short while. We are glad to report that they are now recovering and we wish them well.
